India Gateball teams named for World Games

Indian Gateball Union (IGU) today named two teams to represent the country in the World Games to be held at Kaohsiung city in Chinese Taipei from July 16 to 26. World Games, featuring non-Olympic sports, are held once in every four years under the aegis of International World Games Association (IWGA). The ensuing edition of the World Games would feature competition in 31 sports, including gateball. The Indian squad, consisting two teams and a coach would leave here on July 15, IGU secretary Sanjay Pattanayak said at a media conference in Bhubaneswar. He informed that all the 11 members of the National squad have been selected from Orissa. Team-I: Ranjan Kumar Mishra (captain), Sanjay Pattanayak, Satish Prusty, Arijit Mallick. Team-II: Sanjay Kumar Pattanaik (captain), Amitat Pani, Guru Prasad S Tripathy, Ranjan Kumar Patra, Girija Shankar Bhanja, Dibakar P Harichandan.
